Our vision is to help build stronger communities, create positive change and to make our towns tidier, one street at a time.
Having organised and taken part in many litter-pick events over the last few years, I got into the habit of doing a regular individual litter pick focused on a couple of blocks in my own street. In talking to a few like-minded people, I realised that if enough people did this, we could transform our towns and hopefully build a stronger sense of community at the same time.
Getting involved is very simple, only takes a few minutes each week and is sure to make life just that little bit brighter for you and your neighbours.
At the moment we are looking to develop this scheme in South Tyneside, though if you live elsewhere and would like to get involved too, we’d love to hear from you.
This scheme was inspired by the regular Litter & Laugh walks organised by Angela Todd of Goldfinch Estate Agents in South Shields, along with the Adopt-a-Road programme I noticed on a recent trip to visit family in Ontario, Canada.
